I had the first of my two drafts this season yesterday. This league I always have more trouble with since its an auction draft since its much harder to predict your team. With snake I have a general idea of which players are going to be available at which pick, but with auction everything's happening live so its much harder to plan.

I used my K-Means Tier Ranking and compared those values to Yahoo's projected cost to help me find players that are undervalued and overvalued. Obviously those are just projections, but when it actually gets down to the draft some guys get over/underbid. I didn't have the perfect draft, but here are my thoughts:

What I Didn't Like:
- My internet connection dropped for 10 seconds in which time I autobid for Big Ben at $9. I wasn't planning on spending a $1 for my QB so that really shook up my draft plan. I was able to flip Big Ben for Matt Ryan after the draft however, so that mitigated some of the issues.
- I spent a lot of money early. The first 5 players I got were Demaryius Thomas ($47). Gronk ($40), Latavius Murray ($18), Alfred Morris ($21), and Matt Forte ($47). That left me with a max bid of $16 which would've been enough to snag Edelman or Davante Adams as my WR2 but I accidentally grabbed Big Ben.
- I certainly felt I got great value for Alfred Morris. $21 for a Tier 6B player when similarly ranked players were projected to go for ~$28. The Morris pick came early in the draft when similarly ranked players were going high (i.e. Frank Gore $29). However, later in the draft similarly ranked players were going in the same range as Morris (Jimmy Graham $24, Emmanuel Sanders $21). I think I would've been better suited to roll out with Tevin Coleman or Joique Bell as my RB3 and splurge on TY Hilton/Ashon Jefferey ($33/30).
What I Did Like:
- I thought Gronk's projection of $52 was pretty overvalued, but getting him for $40 was an absolute steal. The other 3 guys in Tier 3 went for an average of $49
- I was thrilled to get Demaryius and Forte for $47 each. The other two guys in Tier 2 went for an average of $56.
- Grabbing Coleman and Funchess late. Coleman could be the guy in the ATL (long shot, but he 's got the best chance of anyone else in that backfield). Funchess could get all those yards Kelvin Benjamin had last year. Miami Dolphins first 4 games are @WAS, @JAX, vsBUF, & vsNYJ.
