Here are the top 15 Tight End tiers by total projected points per FantasyPros projections
Tier 1 | Tier 3 | Tier 4 | Tier 5 | Tier 6 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rob Gronkowski | Jimmy Graham | Greg Olsen | Julius Thomas | Delanie Walker |
Travis Kelce | Zach Ertz | Jordan Cameron | ||
Martellus Bennett | Dwayne Allen | |||
Jason Witten | Coby Fleener | |||
Owen Daniels | ||||
Heath Miller | ||||
Kyle Rudolph |
Some notes:
Some players whose ADP is over/underrated as compared to their projected points:
- There is no Tier 2 because Gronk is that much better than Jimmy Graham. There's ~2 pts/game difference between Gronk and Jimmy. That's a little less than the difference between the average Tier 1 and Tier 3 pts/game for both RBs and WRs.
Some players whose ADP is over/underrated as compared to their projected points:
- Julius Thomas has an ADP of 72.7 which ranks barely below Bennett (67.5) and above Witten (86.2). To give that further context the difference in pts/game between Kelce (ADP 53.7) and Bennet (ADP 67.5) is 0.28, but the difference between Bennet and Thomas is 0.59
- If you want to wait on your tight end and take a late round flier, Delanie Walker seems to be the way to go. He's the TE9 in projected points, but TE13 per ADP. However, keep in mind that this late in the draft its generally a crapshoot.
